2015 Reflections

Wow!  The school year is well underway and it is time to get to work on Reflections if the kids haven't already started!

This year we have a great theme, "Let Your Imagination Fly!" I can't wait to see what the kids come up with.  We do have an exciting addition to what can be entered this year - sculptures are now included under Visual Arts!

Please be sure to read the rules for each category closely.  Your child is free to enter as many times as they want; but we do need all paperwork filled out correctly and completely for each entry.  Judging will begin the day that entries are turned in, so please make sure to package everything correctly so that we aren't slowed down while we package entries.

I will post soon with the student entry form.  I will have it filled in with all of the Kemp specific information so that all that will have to be filled in will be student and entry specific.

Please let me know if I can help in any way!  reflections@landa.org

  1. Can a student write lyrics related to the theme and sing with an existing musical track or have original music provided by someone else? In either case only the lyrical content will be student created.

  2. The student can sing (for elementary age) the song without the background music; but any music played must be their work. So, nothing that is written by someone else. We have had students place well with just singing and no music in previous years. Another option would be entering it as poetry in the literature division; but really, just singing has done well previously.
